Land Clearing
Full lot and acreage clearing: trees, brush, blackberry, stumps, and fence lines taken back to clean, buildable ground.
Learn MoreExcavation and site development is the whole first phase of a build, and we do all of it across Whidbey Island, Island County and north into Skagit County. Foundation and footing excavation, over-digs, retaining, utilities, access roads, and the grading that ties it together. One crew, one point of contact, from raw land to a site your framer can work on.
We come at this from the builder's side. Jeff has spent decades putting up custom homes on this island, so the excavation is planned around how the foundation gets formed and poured, where the utilities have to run, and how the finished grade will drain. It carries straight through to utility trenching and finish grade.

On Whidbey you can hit clean sand, dense till, cobble, or water — sometimes on the same lot. A crew that only knows one kind of ground gets surprised, and surprises on an excavation are expensive.
Thirty years digging here means we usually know what to expect before the bucket goes in, and we plan the dig, the shoring, and the spoils accordingly. When we do find something unexpected, you hear about it that day.
Splitting site work across three subs is how schedules die. Nobody owns the grade, the utility trench cuts the pad, and the drainage gets blamed on whoever left last. We handle clearing, excavation, utilities, drainage, and access ourselves.
That means one schedule, one standard, and one person accountable for the ground your building sits on. Builders keep calling us back for exactly that reason.

(360) 632-5159From the first walkthrough to the final one, here’s exactly how your project runs.
We come out and look at the actual ground — the growth, the slope, the wet spots, the access — listen to what you want done, and give you a straight, written estimate. No pressure, and no guessing at a price over the phone.
We lock in a date, plan equipment access and where the debris goes, and account for drainage, buried utilities, and anything on the property that has to be protected. You know the plan before a machine moves.
Our own crew runs our own machines, and Jeff is on-site. We keep the ground under control, keep you posted, and read what we find as we dig instead of forcing the plan through it.
We walk the finished property with you, deal with the debris the way the plan called for, and leave the ground clean, graded, and draining — ready for whatever you are building next.

Learn MoreThree decades clearing, grading, and digging on Whidbey. We know what is under the topsoil here — glacial till, hardpan, rock, water that sits where it should not — and what it takes to leave ground that drains and builds right.
